Our newest area of festival growth has been in Leslie County, with a Thursday Evening Concert held at the Nixon Community Center, located in Hyden.  Guest performer Eugene Jones, Associate Professor of Music at Kings College, Bristol, Tn.,  performs with Clara Atkins-Pope, piano.  The featured composer of the 2007 festival was George Gershwin.  The duo performed a transcription for clarinet and piano of Gershwin’s famous 3 Piano Preludes
