Performers in the 2007 concert were:  Lisa Abraham, piano accompanist; Todd Spangler, piano soloist; Clara Atkins-Pope, piano accompanist; Lisa Johnson, lecturer/notes;  clarinetist Eugene Jones; violinist Karen Entzi; Jazz guitarist, Derek Day; and vocalist Gail Morfesis.  Dr. Morfesis, of The University of North Carolina, Pembroke, was instrumental in helping the festival committee contract with the North Carolina group of performers.  Dr. Morfesis lived in Harlan with her family during the 1990’s, and was a major force for the arts in our community:  she helped arrange for the Bosendorfer 10 foot grand piano to be gifted to SKCTC Cumberland; she coordinated many community theatrical events, including the ongoing program “The Nutcracker.”   Festival Board Members here include:  Lisa Abraham; Clara Atkins-Pope; Lisa Johnson:  not pictured are Justin Taylor and Ann Schertz, who was traveling in Japan at the time of the 2007 Festival.
