Booth Fees
Craft and Food Booths are available for one or both days of the
festival. Contact Festival Director
Michael Corriston about booth fees.
Taxes
The Kentucky Revenue department advises each vendor or
craftsperson to keep records of each individual sale. If a vendor is
unable to track each sale then he or she should at least keep a
record of total sales for the festival. Vendors who travel to
several of Kentucky's festivals are encouraged to get a state tax
number, which would likely reduce your overall tax.
Variance Granted
To clear up questions raised about the continued sale
of homemade pickles, jams, jellies and molasses at Swappin' Meetin',
festival officials met with the Harlan County Health Department.
The decision was made to grant a variance. Swappin' Meetin' participants
will be allowed to sell their homemade items during the festival,
provided the items are labeled with the following information: 1)
what it is (eg. sweet pickles, apple butter), 2) the ingredients
used, 3) who made it 4) date it was made.
