The nursing program at Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College is structured as an academic/career mobility program and provides a seamless educational option in nursing with two exit points allowing students to choose a career as an LPN or RN. Black Mountain Resources makes gift to Southeast

Black Mountain Resources, LLC, has given Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College a gift of $70,000 for a scholarship endowment and for current scholarships. In addition, Black Mountain Resources has pledged an additional $40,000 for scholarships to be given over the next two years.

Adult Education Programs at SKCTC earn proficient ranking

Kentucky Adult Education (KYAE) has announced on the fiscal year for 2008-09 good news for the Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College Adult Education Programs. Both the Harlan and Bell County programs are in the proficient category with each site slated to receive additional funding. The performance funding is to be added to the current year budget of the program.

Southeast and EKCEP team up to boost number of paramedics within region

                While the lifesaving skills of a paramedic are often a critical factor in a patient’s survival, the number of available paramedics locally is dwindling. Officials are now hoping the roster of paramedics in eastern Kentucky will soon be increased, thanks in part to a new, free training course that is scheduled for Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College’s (SKCTC) campuses in Harlan and Bell counties. The course is being funded by the Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program.
