Southeast offers you a wide range of academic, technical, and cultural programs to meet your needs.  Our academic transfer programs offer Associate of Arts and Associate of Science Degrees that transfer very easily to four-year institutions.   We have certificate programs that fit together with your current employment so you can advance or open the door to a new career.  We also offer a wide range of cultural opportunities for you to engage in, such as community art and theater productions, while learning more about the history, culture, and traditions of southeast Kentucky and Appalachia.

Area high school students had the opportunity recently to learn about possible careers inside the healthcare industry by taking part in the Appalachian Health Education Center (AHEC) Career Craze Summer Scrubs Camp held at Harlan ARH.

Kentucky Coal Museum unveil new Window Exhibit

"Nearly everyone enjoys visiting a museum, but very few understand all that is involved behind the scenes in making a museum visit an enjoyable experience," said Alexia Ault, registrar and cataloger for the Kentucky Coal Museum and Appalachian Archives, commenting on the new window exhibit at the museum located at Benham. "That is why we are allowing the public to see firsthand some of the activities they would normally never see by doing them in the front display window of the Kentucky Coal Museum."

Southeast’s Appalachian Program receives funding for additional arts programming

A coalition coordinated by the Appalachian Program at Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College (SKCTC) recently received $100,000 from the National Endowment for the Arts Our Town Program in support of eighteen months of innovative arts programming fostering community interaction focused on emerging regional artists as part of a larger community renewal effort.

The Glow Run 5k Run / 1 Mile Walk Returns to the Kingdom Come Swappin' Meetin'

The 3rd annual Kingdom Come Swappin’ Meetin’ 5k will be held Oct 3, 2014. This is the second year it will be run as a Glow Run. Participants will receive a t-shirt and glow items. Everyone is encouraged to wear things that will glow in the dark! Pre-registration fee is $20 and onsite registration is $25.

Southeast students Amanda Baker and Emily Nantz honored by KCTCS as part of All-Academic team

Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College students Emily C. Nantz of Harlan and Amanda Baker of Middlesboro were named recently as a members of the 2014 KCTCS All-Academic Team. Honorees from all 16 KCTCS colleges were honored during a luncheon in Owensboro and held as part of the system's New Horizons initiative.
