Description: Someone called a Harlan campus SKCTC employee and made threatening and violent statements to SKCTC personnel on the Harlan campus. Kentucky State Police Post 10 was notified and KSP responded to investigate the incident. A lockdown was issued by KCTCS Safety Notification Alert Process for the Harlan Campus at 11:24 am. KSP issue an all clear for the Harlan campus and a SNAP message issuing all clear was issued at11:53 am.

We did have the state police here with us; and there was a very positive outcome. We did not issue a SNAP message beforehand since the one-building Pineville campus was secured.

Description: Cumberland, KY., Feb. 29--Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College’s Cumberland Campus was placed on a safety alert at approximately 2:15 p.m. today and all classrooms and offices were locked down.

These precautions were taken in reaction to an individual’s being on campus that it was thought might be a threat to a member of the faculty.

After a search of the premises, this individual, who had previously been barred from the College’s Harlan Campus, was identified by the Cumberland Police Department and asked to leave. He did so without incident, and full operations resumed at approximately 3:00 p.m
