The highly praised singing duo of Jake and Ruby Ravizee will perform in concert Sunday, March 4 in the Edsel Godbey Appalachian Center located on the Cumberland campus of Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College. The concert, which will feature a variety of sacred music including Negro spirituals, black gospel and contemporary praise songs, will begin at 3 p.m. The event, according to SKCTC vice president for diversity and inclusion Carolyn M. Sundy, said the concert is certain to be an afternoon of entertainment, reflection and inspiration. “Black music captures a part of the American spirit and continues to have a profound impact on our country,” she said. “Jake and Ruby take every opportunity to spread the ‘Good News.’ It’s the love of God, ministry and music that inspires them.” The concert is free and the public is cordially invited to take part in this “special event,” said Sundy.
